Jason Moore, with Rodgers Builders, Appointed Chair of the BDC (Building Development Commission)

From REBIC

One of the critical responsibilities of being an experienced member of the development community is the call to serve on one of the dozens of pivotal advisory boards in the counties in and surrounding our region. In fact, to facilitate that call, REBIC has a section of its website dedicated to that end. (Scroll to the county in which you want to see service opportunities.)

Today, we’re introducing you to a specific board, the BDC, or Building Development Commission for Mecklenburg County. And we’re proud to announce that one of our own former REBIC Board members, NAIOP member, and influential business leader Jason Moore has been appointed to chair this important board. His term runs for three years.

The role of the Building Development Commission (BDC) is to review, advise and make recommendations to the Board and the Department regarding land development/building industry matters, the annual budget of County departments with land development/building regulatory functions, the methodology for establishing and the level of all fees charged, land development/building regulatory programs, processes, plans, and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness, and more. Navigate here to read the entire scope of the BDC, see the calendar of meetings, and most importantly find a link to serve on this board.

We are proud to feature Jason and the BDC in our 2 For Tuesday and encourage you to become aware of the BDC and how its actions shape your daily business decisions.

Rob’s Take: I can’t tell you how thrilled we are to have Jason serve as Chair of this important board. He’s a practical guy who takes a common-sense approach to most things. His leadership of this crucial body that serves as a conduit between the County and the industry is a really positive development. Thanks, Jason, for taking this on!
