#1B WSOC Interview With Larry Shaheen Offers The Clearest Who, What, When, Where, and Why for the Referendum.
Following a week of interviews with potential candidates, the Charlotte City Council last night voted to confirm several appointees to the Metropolitan Public Transportation Authority (MPTA):
- Frank Emory
- David Howard
- Todd Collins
- Jocelyn Jones-Nalley
- Wyatt Dixon
- Lucia Zapata-Griffith
- Peter Pappas
- Charles Bowman
- Christy Long
The Cornelius Board of Commissioners also voted last night to approve its appointment who will be Bob Menzel. Huntersville is expected to make its appointment at a meeting later today. Mecklenburg County is currently conducting interviews and is expected to finalize its picks next week.
Rob’s Take: Please watch the video. Larry did a great job articulating in a few but important words exactly how we arrived at success with the transportation referendum, and the next steps. Tracking how the dollars are spent and weighing in with regular input and recommendations will be a big priority of ours over the next few years.
