Rob’s Take: Early voting in Mecklenburg County ended last Saturday afternoon with a record number of individuals casting votes – 64,651. This is likely due to the presence of the Transportation Referendum (PLEASE VOTE YES) on the ballot as well as a number of safety concerns that have motivated residents to get engaged. The impressive number of votes cast represent a 50% increase over that of any other odd year municipal election in the county and some speculate that we could have as much as 30% of eligible voters participating this cycle. This is significant and quite an encouraging development. Polls are open 6:30 am to 7:30 pm. If you have not already done so, please go vote.
