#1) Charlotte Future 2040 Policy Map Survey & Update

City of Charlotte Pic

The City of Charlotte is conducting a survey to receive input on existing place types that will help inform changes in the Charlotte Future 2040 mapping process.  The Charlotte Future 2040 mapping process will be completed using a new tool, Place Types, and will follow a 3-step process

Place Types are a new classification system to organize patterns of development. This tool is intended to be more complete and holistic than the city’s current system called Future Land Use. The following survey is for Step 1: Existing Place Types. The input collected from this survey will inform changes made in Step 3.

The Existing Place Type survey will remain open until October 1, 2021. Click here to take the Live, Work, Play Survey

#2) NC General Assembly Update

State Seal Pic

The last three weeks at the legislature have been relatively quiet as the budget negotiations have continued. The latest estimate for a new state budget has moved to mid-October. Today, we were informed by Representative Jason Saine (R-Lincoln), Senior House Appropriations Chairman, that they have nearly come to an agreement between the Senior Appropriation Chairs and leadership of both the House and Senate, and that conversations with the Governor and his staff should be starting this week.

We look forward to sharing more about things happening in the General Assembly as the negotiations continue and hopefully wrap up within the next few weeks.
