2040 Comprehensive Plan, the Unified
Development Ordinance (UDO), and Charlotte Moves

Below are quick links to the evolving information that will have a dramatic impact on the future of commercial real estate development. NAIOP Charlotte, in conjunction with REBIC and other real estate associations, continues to monitor and inform members about developments in the 2040 Comprehensive Plan from the City of Charlotte (the Comp Plan).  The Comp Plan is a 320-page visionary document for how Charlotte will grow and develop over the next 20 years. Charlotte Planning created the document with considerable community input, and it will be used as the guide for creating the Unified Development Ordinance (a replacement for our existing zoning code). Members are encouraged to get involved and provide a voice for commercial real estate as these policies unfold.
