2017 Battle of the Bands

 NAIOP Charlotte hosted its second annual Battle of the Bands on Thursday, July 27th and it was a hit! This commercial real estate fundraising event benefitted The Harvest Center. Three bands battled it out for the title of Best Band at the year’s premier networking event. Great food, drinks and music.
Many thanks to Grievous Angels, Irrashional and The Holdouts for their outstanding performances! Congratulations to Grievous Angels who took home the trophy again this year!
We are appreciative of all of our partners in success – planning committee volunteers, sponsors, emcee, jury members and attendees – with your support, NAIOP Charlotte was able to donate $5,000 to The Harvest Center. We couldn’t have done it without all of your help.

The Harvest Center meets both emergency needs for food and shelter as well as long term needs through their transformational program. They serve over 1,000 of Charlotte’s homeless and low-income individuals every week, offering hot meals and giving out clothing and blankets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Their Food Pantry distributed groceries to over 30,000 individuals in 2011 and was the largest recipient of food from Second Harvest Food Bank. The food and clothing ministry attracts clients to The Harvest Center, where they are then able to develop relationships of trust and care so that the transformation process can begin. The Transformation Program provides temporary housing, counseling, job skills training, literacy and GED preparation assistance to its participants. Learn more.

Defending champs! Local Charlotte band comprised of members Joe Ciarlante, Tim Farney, Richard McDevitt, Reid Cathcart, Jim Gamble and Alicia Akima R Driver.
 IRRASHIONAL
Irrashional is a Charlotte, NC-based band of with a passion for Classic Rock and entertaining. Members include Patrick Dukes (guitar/vox), Christian Sturt (drums), Payton Velligan (lead vox/guitar/keys), and Junior Sturt (bass). The band puts on a lively, performing classic rock favorites from bands such as Journey, Boston, The Police, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, and many more.
 THE HOLDOUTS
The Holdouts are a group of professionals from Charlotte, NC who you can count on to ROCK THE HOUSE! They play music from The Rolling Stones, The Black Crowes, The Allman Brothers, The Who, and other rock bands with a touch of blues. Band members include Billy Owens, Jerry Chapman, Todd Richardson, Jeff Vandiver, and Kent Lamm.
TIM COUNTS
Tim Counts is a regular on Comedy Zone stages and showcases, hosting for Rob Schneider, Shawn Jones, Monty Franklin, Chris Kattan, and many other well-known stand-ups. His professional acting credits include Investigation Discover Channel's Swamp Murders, Elevation Church's EKidz series Overboard, and commercials for NASCAR, Coca-Cola, Harris Teeter grocery stores, and Bojangles restaurants to name just a few.
